MPA was recently awarded the SDSU Engineering & Interdisciplinary Complex Project!  The 90,000 sf building will be comprised of teaching labs and flexible research space to accommodate a range of engineering and science programs.

The building will be located just south of the existing engineering building, which will be connected by a bridge to the new facility.  The building will contain a Clean Room and feature a high-performance mechanical system that will help pressurize lab spaces.  The project team will also construct a courtyard for interactive learning and to hold campus events.

The SDSU Engineering & Interdisciplinary Sciences Complex is designed to achieve LEED certification.

Substantial completion is slated for January 2018.

SeaWorld San Diego has implemented a unique saltwater flushing system at the recently completed 3,000 sf restroom located near the Shamu Stadium.  The restroom includes 21 urinals and 34 toilets that will utilize saltwater for flushing.  MPA is proud to be part of the innovative design team which is able to save one of earth’s greatest resources.

Quick Facts:

• The conversion to saltwater flushing will result in approximately 1.3 millions of gallons of water saved annually.
• The bathroom plumbing pulls from Mission Bay.
• The system filters the water before it gets in the toilet, and after use, it heads into the Point Loma Wastewater Treatment Plant where the water is then treated and filtered before it flows back into the ocean.
