BACK TO PUBLIC WORK

Project Description

The Alpine Branch Living Library is a new 13,500 sf county operated building that opened its doors to the public in May of 2016. MPA is proud to have provided the mechanical and plumbing design necessary to help this project become a pioneer on several levels. The Alpine Library is the first Zero Net Energy (ZNE) building in the County of San Diego, the first ever library to be certified under the Zero Energy Program, and the first across the board to be certified in California in 2018. This achievement was made possible through active environmentally conscious design from the project’s initial concept through to its fruition.
